Stories

Make the system understood

Presentations, maps, data graphics and websites built on the real numbers, organised by the kind of place they serve.

SECTOR 01

Development & places

For projects and institutions that need people to understand a site, a plan or a neighbourhood.

A place feeds two practices. Systems read the place: the site, the money and the asset. Stories make it understood: approvals, capital and the people who use it. Systems give stories true numbers; stories tell systems what people need to know. Both serve the people who build, keep and practice in the place.

THE PLACE

  • Site and zoning
  • Market and money
  • Buildings and systems
  • History and context
  • The people who use it

Systems

READ THE PLACE

  • Read the site

Zoning, buildable envelope, massing and site conditions.

  • Model the money

Pro formas, capital stacks, underwriting and waterfalls that stay current.

  • Run the asset

Budgets, forecasts, dashboards and the planning system behind them.

Stories

MAKE IT UNDERSTOOD

  • Win the approval

Planning-board and community presentations a neighbor can follow.

  • Raise and report

Investor, lender and board materials built from the model.

  • Bring people in

Project sites, maps, exhibits and the brand of the place.

The people

who develop it, finance it, and live and work in it. What they do there feeds back into both.

SECTOR 02

Retail

A shop is a place people choose to walk into. We build the storefront, online and in the room, so it carries the same character as the business behind it.

  • Storefront sites

Online shops designed around what you sell and where you sell it, not a stock template.

  • Catalog & product pages

Photography direction, provenance, pricing and copy that make each piece easy to choose.

  • In-store & print

Signage, placards, menus and event material that match the site.

  • The numbers behind it

Inventory, margins and sales reporting set up so the shop can see how it's doing.

The Glaukas Mercantile: a shop that feels like a place

The problem. Most small-shop sites look like the same template: a grid of products on white. Nothing about them tells you what the brand is or why the work is worth buying.

What we built. A storefront designed as a room: paintings hung on a gallery wall with placards for medium and price, antiques in a cabinet of drawers, and rigging blocks in shadow boxes. Browsing by medium, clear provenance on every piece, and checkout behind it.

Why it matters. The same care applies to any customer-facing screen: a clear hierarchy, honest information, and a look that belongs to the business.
